The Ultra 80 is Sun's only desktop workstation with uniprocessor, dual-processor, and quad-processor configurations.
The Sun Ultra 80 workstation's balanced architecture means you can deploy all the processing power, memory, I/O, and graphics you need, without performance limitations or bottlenecks. The Ultra 80 has the highest memory bandwidth in the Sun workstation product line, allowing you to go up to four gigabytes of memory, four processors and dual Elite3D or Expert3D graphics, supporting multiple disk arrays from its UltraSCSI bus, and running high speed peripherals. The Ultra 80 allows you to run multiple high-performance graphics subsystems with up to two Elite3D m3, Elite3D m6 and/or Exper 3D simultaneously at full speed. The Sun Ultra 80 is an ideal system for the most demanding graphics applications.
